7 Wordpress Themes Under $75

For us blog babes who use Wordpress to power our sites, we know that the theme can make or break a blog. However, custom themes require either tons of coding experience or big bucks to pay a developer. The perfect middle ground is premium pre-made themes. You can get them everywhere from Etsy to Theme Forest to Creative Market, and they can be a majorly helpful tool in your blogging arsenal if you choose the right one.

However, not all themes are created equal. Some key things you'll want to make sure to look for is mobile optimization, plenty of customization options, user friendliness, search engine optimization, and practical use of plugins (be wary of a theme that comes with 30 pre-installed plugins - your website will load way too slowly).

Whatever you decide, be sure to do your research (trust me, I've been burned before). And in the meantime, here are 7 great and affordable Wordpress themes from some fabulous designers and developers.

Please note: these themes are for self-hosted Wordpress.org blogs, and will not work with free Wordpress.com sites.

1// Boss Lady - $50

7 Wordpress Themes Under $75 | octoberjune.com

This is the theme that October June is currently running! I've dealt with my fair amount of Wordpress themes since I switched over, and this is BY FAR my holy grail. It's been so incredibly easy to use and customize to exactly how I'd like it. I've had themes in the past that I've had to fight every inch of the way to customize the way I wanted it, which required a lot of half-assed HTML equivalent to paper clips and bubble gum. This theme, however, works completely smoothly, and I haven't had any issues with designing it just how I want it.

2// Memory - $59

7 Wordpress Themes Under $75 | octoberjune.com

This theme is really beautiful, and features mobile optimization, 12 different layouts, and various shortcodes, icons, Google fonts, and more to make it totally customizable. Plus it features the option for one of those "mega-menus" that have become popular on magazine style sites and blogs, where the dropdown menus also showcase thumbnails and links to recent and popular posts.

3// Honeycrisp - $70

7 Wordpress Themes Under $75 | octoberjune.com

If you've spent any time at all in the blogosphere or on Pinterest, chances are good that you've come across some of Angie Makes' design work. She has various theme and other design options in her shop, and they're a favorite among the lifestyle/beauty/fashion blogger set. This one has a lovely pink and gold color theme (which is fully customizable if that's not your style) and plenty of lovely hand drawn elements.

4// Darling - $50

7 Wordpress Themes Under $75 | octoberjune.com

Darling is a very feminine and colorful child theme built off of the Genesis framework. Some Genesis themes come with the framework, others require that you purchase it yourself, which is an extra $60 investment. However, a staggering amount of Wordpress themes are built off of the Genesis framework, so the one-time investment could prove very useful to you.

5// Yeah! - $44

7 Wordpress Themes Under $75 | octoberjune.com

I really like this theme - it's the perfect mix of minimalist and colorful, with fun, funky vibes. It has a lot of great features as well, with mobile optimization, plenty of room for custom design and branding, and a framework that will let the content shine - which is the lifeblood of any good blog.

6// Truffle - $50

7 Wordpress Themes Under $75 | octoberjune.com

Truffle says it's for food blogs, but I can see it easily translating into almost any niche. I love the bright, happy pops of color in the sidebar and menu that really give it character. It's another Genesis theme, so you know it will be fast, user-friendly, and powerful.

7// Victoria - $45

7 Wordpress Themes Under $75 | octoberjune.com

Victoria is a sleek, modern, and stylish theme with a colorful pop. Yet another Genesis child theme (hint hint, this is one of the themes that comes with Genesis framework in the price tag - which is a huge saving, and then you have it forever). It translates beautifully to mobile screens, and has plenty of options available to make it your own as well.
