7 Coffee Recipes to Perk You Up

It’s no secret that I love coffee. I was a barista for nearly four years in college, and I own two coffee makers, an espresso machine, a french press, a coffee grinder, a stovetop coffee brewer and a few other coffee related gadgets.

Frankly, I blame Gilmore Girls for romanticizing over-caffeination and getting me hooked on the stuff in my formative years. But whatever the case, there’s no going back now, so I’m embracing it!

Today I thought I’d share some favorite coffee recipes that will perk you up and get you going any day of the week – plus they’re totally delicious!

Perfect for the scorching hot dog days of summer that we seem to be stuck in currently (okay, I know it’s only just August but I’m so ready for fall). Challenge mode is drinking iced coffee in the middle of January.

2. Snickerdoodle Latte

Anyone who knows me knows I fricken love Snickerdoodle cookies, so this sounds absolutely incredible. This recipe from House of Yumm is perfect for curling up with a cozy blanket and a good book.

3. Fresh Mint Iced Coffee

At first I was skeptical about just using mint in coffee, with no other flavors (like mint mocha or something). But I’ve tried it, and it’s so delicious and refreshing. It just tastes totally rejuvenating, like some fancy spa treatment or something? Try this recipe from How Sweet It Is.

4. All-Natural Pumpkin Spice Latte

Okay I know it’s a bit early to start preaching the gospel of pumpkin spice, but if you’re anything like me, you just genuinely enjoy pumpkin flavored things whenever. Or, okay, you’re a little bit obsessed with autumn and celebrate it for about 3 or 4 months longer than most people. Either way, try this latte – it tastes better than Starbucks.

5. Vietnamese Iced Coffee

Vietnamese iced coffee has been really making the rounds on the internet recently. I finally tried it a few months ago to see what the hype is about and it is SO GOOD. It’s basically an espresso shot or two, served over ice with condensed milk. It’s strong, but the condensed milk sweetens it up and makes it deliciously creamy. 6. Healthy Cinnamon Dolce Latte

The cinnamon dolce latte is/was my absolute favorite drink at Starbucks. As far as I can tell though, they recently changed the formula for the syrup or something, because it tastes completely different now, and totally AWFUL. At first I thought they were giving me sugar free accidentally, but after having the same issue at multiple locations on various days, I can only assume they’ve changed something. Can anyone still in the biz verify my Starbucks conspiracy theory? Anyways, I’m excited to try this version from With Salt and Wit.

7. Lavender Honey Iced Latte

Lavender and honey is another flavor combination that I was very unsure about until I tried it. Now I’m hooked! It’s been really big this spring and summer and it’s really the perfect sunny day drink. It seems like it would taste weird, but the sweet, floral flavor goes really well with espresso. Go figure! I’m trying this one from Offbeat and Inspired ASAP.
